History

Amicus Insurance Services started in 1992 as Goldstiver O’Sullivan Pty Ltd by Rob Goldstiver and Jim O’Sullivan, and over the ensuing years the business grew rapidly through a combination of client referrals and mergers with other insurance professionals.

In 2001 the business changed its name to Amicus Financial Group and by 2011 both Rob Goldstiver and Jim O’Sullivan had retired and Amicus Financial Group had become Amicus Insurance Services. Gerard Scott was appointed Managing Director in 2011 and led the business through a period of significant growth and transition.

In July 2023, Amicus Insurance Services was acquired by Resilium Partners, an Envest company, which is a diversified Australian insurance group owned by The Ardonagh Group. The Envest Group has a combined GWP (Gross Written Premium) of $1.6bn in Australia, and its global counterpart, The Ardonagh Group is a world-leading independent insurance distribution platform, placing $14bn GWP ($USD) annually.

In joining Resilium Partners and Envest, Amicus is able to leverage the reach of the global group, to deliver a broader range of product and risk solutions available to the group. Today Amicus employs more than seventeen dedicated staff, a number of whom have been with the business for many years. We continue to remain committed to providing our clients with outstanding service and professional advice for all their insurance needs.
